Energy & Storage Systems

Solar Microgrids and Energy Storage Dispatch

The system integrates solar generation, battery storage, inverters, and a central controller to switch power supply paths according to generation, battery status, and load demand. Continuous load tests examine actual power dispatch, storage utilization, and supply stability. Measurements are compared with simulation results to assess how accurately the model predicts system operation.

Hybrid Fuel Cell and Lithium-Ion Battery Charging Systems

The system combines a methanol-reforming fuel cell with a lithium-ion battery through a DC bus and intelligent DC/DC converters, allocating output as charging loads change. The fuel cell provides sustained energy, while the battery supports short-duration power demand. Tests with physical power sources and loads examine power allocation, output stability, and control strategy operation.

Charging Energy Scheduling for Electric Bus Fleets

A scheduling model combining grid power and on-site storage addresses peak demand when multiple electric buses return to charge. Control strategies consider each bus’s remaining and target state of charge, scheduled departure time, and available site power to determine charging order and power allocation. The research also explores how storage or vehicle-to-vehicle energy exchange can support buses with earlier departures when grid supply is constrained.
